3. THE DIVINE HUMAN

The true self awakened in God

The Universal Intuition

Across traditions, there is a sense that the human person has a deeper identity beyond the ego.

In Buddhism, awakening reveals non-self beyond illusion.
In Hinduism, Atman is one with Brahman.
In modern teachers like Eckhart Tolle, presence reveals the deeper self.
In Integral Theory through Ken Wilber, consciousness evolves through stages.

Stoicism discovers the ruling center within that cannot be touched by external events.

The Q’ero shamans call it the ánimu or essential self that is who we are beyond linear space and time and this lifetime.

The recurring insight:
We are more than we think we are.

Voices Across Traditions

  • “Know thyself”
  • “The kingdom of God is within you”
  • Awakening beyond ego
  • Inner transformation traditions worldwide

Catholic Mystical Fulfillment

In Catholic theology, this is not self-realization alone.

It is participation.

Through Christ, we are not merely awakened —
we are adopted into divine life.

This is theosis:
to become “partakers of the divine nature.”

The true self is not discovered in isolation —
it is received in relationship.
